Falling in love the mathematician’s way.

Sat. August 28, 2010 ............ engagements

During an engagement sessions, I always tell my couple to talk to each other and don’t worry about the camera. Not because I want to eavesdrop on their secret love story (even though I enjoy that very much!) but because I want them to feel comfortable and be themselves. Then almost always the couple talks about their wedding plans. Who to invite, who to include in family portraits, and what cakes they liked better, etc. But Robin and Philip were totally different.

Philip: “Do you know if you pick a random number between 0 to 1, it will always be an irrational number?”
Robin: “No, really? Why?”
(Robin sounded really interested.)
Philip: “Because the probability of getting …”
(At this point, my head spun around too much to follow the conversation…)

Robin met Philip at Economics class. Robin is beautiful (and smart!) and Philip is genius. After a few years from their first Economics class, here they are. Engaged!!!

The classroom where they met. — not exactly… but kind of… :)

Left is Pi and the right is sundial.

Kiss

One thing Philip is incredibly good at, other than math, is jumping. He can jump high. Really high!

Look how beautiful Robin is.

It’s the mathematics department building where they spent lots of time together. The red brick and the circle penetration go really well with Robin and Philip’s smile.

Tango at a math building! My favorite.

I couldn’t pass these columns and stairs without grabbing a shot. :)
